I need some amp and processor suggestions

I'm looking to build a new home theater. I would like to have a 7.1 surround. I need some opinions on this set up. This is what was suggested to me:

    2 B&W 802D (Left Right)
    1 B&W HTM1D (Center)
    4 B&W DS8S (Surround)
    2 JL Audio f113
    3 Rotel RB-1092
    2 Rotel RB-1080
    1 Rotel RSP-1068

I know I want to have the B&W speakers. Does anyone have any info on the amps and processors or any suggestions on other amps and/or processors. Also what kind of speaker wires and interconnects would you suggest? I'd like to keep the amp and processor budget to $10k to $14k. a little more or a little less is optional.

    Thanks, MilesD

Probably going to want to mention what your amp and processor budget is.

I really like Anthem products. But I don't have any experience with how they work with B&W. If you have an authorized dealer in your area try to check them out.

I would suggest looking into Cat Cables. I have several in my system and they are great. I am sure you can look at the Catcable info on this forum.

Good luck in your search. :T

I have 803S (L/R), HTM3S, SCMS (Rears), CCM817 (Surrounds - Only because of room constraints), RMB-1095, RB-1080, and Anthem D2. The sound is extremely good. The D2 has brought detail and fullness that I have not heard when I use to listen to my movies with my old RX-V2500. Now, the new D2 is shipping with Anthem Room Correction (ARC) which will make it even better. You will not go wrong with the Anthem in your set-up. The biggest key is to find a dealer that has your set-up or close to your set-up so that you can listen to it. Let your ears be your biggest judge.

          Good luck.

Rotel is a good choice !

If you want to go 7.2 I will select :

              RSP-1069 with 4 HDMI inputs
              RB-1080 (200x2)for L+R
RMB-1095 (200x5) for center and surrounds

If you need more power, the RB-1092 (500x2) could be use for L + R

If budget is not a problem:

3 RB-1092 + 1 RB-1091 (but I am sure that surronds do not need that power anyway)

With that kind of budget I would audition some Meridian or Theta equipment.

Cables are very system and user specific, so recommending a company that I like is not very helpful. Audition as many different cables in your budget as you can and see which you like best. There are many cable companies out there who let you audition cables and return them if you are not satisfied, no questions asked.

this may be a noob Q but...I have built 4 dayton br-1's speakers and am going to get/build a sub. I want to build an amp. my question is about how to set the whole thing up.

                  Pre-Amp Processor Suggestions

Well the way I see it, Amps and speakers only change a small degree over
time, Pre-amps in the digital domain are always changing.

I'm looking from a pre-amp that takes HDMI into account. If
you like it or not I beleive the future is HD-Dvd and Blue Ray.
                  They will...
