Audio through Denon Link instead of HDMI?

I'm having some trouble getting Denon Link to work between my 3808 receiver and 2930 dvd player. I have set it to Denon Link (3rd) in the DVD menu and the light in front of the DVD player lights up. I've also gone and assigned Denon Link in the receiver's assign menu - but the sound is still going through the HDMI connection instead of the DL connection (I know this because I can pull the Denon Link cable out and the sound just keeps on going...)

Yeah forget about Denon link. It's not nessary.

What you have to do is go to the source menu in the receiver. In there the signal select is set to auto. You need to select digital so it will look for the Denon Link. In auto the HDMI takes president. Make sure the digital input assign is set to Denon Link as well and then it will work. I have the exact combo on display at my store and I went through the same thing.

The AVR-3808CI and the DVD-2930CI look and sound very good together. You'll have fun watching movies and listening to multi channel music. If you like Pink Floyd get a copy of Dark Side of the Moon in SACD. It's great.

The Denon Link is worth it IMO.
