I have two sets of 5.1 speakers in adjoining rooms, fed by a single AV receiver. Currently I have three Russound A/B switches that I use to switch between the room A or room B speakers. This works fine except I would like to be able to perform the switch from my remote.
I have searched for an off-the-shelf product to do this but haven't found one. I will probably build my own and would appreciate any suggestions. I believe the best approach would be to use one or more relays to do the switching. I already know how to control standard relays via IR or X10 so that part isn't an issue.
My questions are, what type of relay should I get and where can I get them? I think the relays would need the following characteristics: latching, break before make, gold or silver dry contacts, 10 Amp rating. Does this look correct? Any suggestions where to find the relays? Other ideas?
Thx, Jerry
