    Standby

    My new Yamaha HTR-6090 receiver's remote has been setup for a one (Power) button start for the TV, STB & receiver. The power button can also be used to stop everything except the receiver. That requires the "Standby" button to be pressed.
    Why is this "Standby" button needed to turn off the receiver? Apparently, that is it's only function.

      It's basically discrete ON/OFF buttons. Useful for learning the commands into other remotes and perform macro commands without having to know what state the receiver is in.

      But otherwise you are correct, that is the only function of the standby button.

          I just recived my RSP 1098 and I have a question:
          My standby button on the front is a little "loose" it doesn't feel like the power button on the RB-1090 power amplifier, is this normal ?

          I just got a used RSP-1068 and there are some little issues with it. It works fine generally, but I have some questions.

          1- The "standby" button doesn't have any effect
