Hi guys, need a little assistance here. How can I install an additional subwoofer to my theater system, my receiver is a DENON 7.1, would I just use a Y-Adapter from the single sub out to make it two?

That is correct, and ensure you use a quality y adapter. However, I am unsure of your Denon Model, but you may want to check to see if you have a sub2 outlet. I use my sub2 outlet for my Buttkickers.

It's a 2802, I just check it right now & it only has 1 sub-out.

My Denon is a 3801 and only has one sub out so I use a Y adapter and it works just fine.

Hi there Chris saw one of your reps in the 7.1 topics, saying your using tactile tranducers, what are these really for? I tot these gadgets are just inserted in the back of the chair cushions for extra shaking vibrations. Would these improve the lows a lot more or I'm right it just a novelty for extra vibrations on our backs? hehe (quite so primitive on these transducer stuffs)

Tactile transducers/shakers are often mis-used, with the effect turned up to excessive levels, and yes, then it becomes a novelty where during low bass and explosion scenes your butt is shocked with massive vibrations. When used properly, though, it does augment the subwoofer, ENHANCING the sensation and experience. Do you need them? No, not if you've got a good subwoofer that can play low and move a lot of air in low frequencies. But it makes a movie more than just a visual and audio experience, it makes it a tactile sensation experience, too.

They are often used just for low bass, where they are most effective. But the best TT's, like Clark Synthesis, are actually capable of full-range reproduction, enhancing the whole audio range. For this reason, Clarks are used to help deaf people hear/experience movies and music. Also, yes, transducers/shakers can be used to augment a weak subwoofer, or give you still full bass experience if you need to keep the volume low, like if you're in an apartment.

Yes (very easy to install) and Yes (separate amp is required).

FYI. I am certainly enjoying the buttkickers that I've installed. If you are considering this item, I would suggest the Buttkicker LFE kit (for around $400.00 with s&h on a 2 day arrival, MSRP $495.95). It comes with an amp, wiring (although the wiring is not to my standards), and chair mounting accessory. This kit is heavy it weighs around 40 lbs. I have enjoyed it so much that I bought another buttkicker and chair mount to evenly distribute the effects. I checked on some other transducers, but the BK provided the best bang for the buck (not to expensive, not to cheap).
