    Rotel or Pioneer?

Hi guys.. I'm about to buy a new complete HT setup, but I'm really in doubt about which setup to choose.. I have picked out 2 sets that costs the same at my chosen retailer, but specs are quite different..
The setup will be used for something like 98% movies and 2 % stereo :-)

    Setup 1: Pioneer VSX-AV2AS-S and a Pioneer DVR-545HX-S DVD/HDD-recorder..

    Setup 2: Rotel RSX-1057 and a Marantz DV-6600

It's being paired with a Sony 50" rear projection tv, CAV Fi-EX front, CAV C30 center, M&K K-4 surrounds and a Sunfire Dominator D-10 sub..

Which setup would you guys pick? Do I need all the wizardry from the Pioneer? Stuff like autoadjusting room EQ?
Does the Rotel do video-scaling (can't seem to find a definate answer to that - so I picked a dvd that does scaling)..

Any comments at all are very welcome..

My first thought is to go with the Rotel, they have always had very good quality, budget minded gear.

I don't know the specs and features of that particular unit from Pioneer, but I may take a look later today.

Were you able to audition both at the retailer? If so, which did you prefer?

If you want sound quality go with Rotel, if you want features go with Pioneer. Have you listened to the two setups with your own ears?

FYI I know you said 98% movies 2% music but you'll likely be surprised how much more music you start listening to with a quality, musical setup like the Rotel gear

Woo hoo, let us know how you like it. I think that was a wise choice. I don't know too many people that use even HALF of the features on most receivers...so to me, one is better to go for sound quality. Enjoy!

I have wanted a Rotel amp for some time and because my wife does not understand my home theater obsession, I bought one used from Craigslist. I had asked the only owner all kinds of questions and finally bought it. It came with a like new manual, untouched warranty card amd two T6.3 250V(I think that's...

            Hello,

I have been using the knowledge available on this forum for quite some time now but this is only my second post. The first one did not getting any responses so I thought of trying again

            I have the RSP-1068, RB-1080 and RMB-1075. I am thinking of buying a 5.1...

Decision time: classe ssp-300 or keeping rotel 1098
            by BlueSander
            Hi,
I'm running a setup with Rotel 1098 processor couple with Rotel 1075 amp with 802 front and HTM1 center. The amp isn't enough, yes, but while looking at a new amp. I came across a SSP-300. Will it make any different if I hang on to the current amp and "upgrade" my processor to SSP-300....

            Rotel RDV-1060 vs Panasonic BD55?
            by 97disco
I just picked up a Rotel RDV-1060 for $40! Heck, for that price I wanted to see how it would preform and wanted something that would match my current system.

Keep in mind, I'm no high roller (obviously). My current setup is:

            Rotel RSP-1066
            Rotel RMB 1075

            Rotel and a Sunfire Sub
            by PSUfan
I currently have a Energy Veritas setup in my HT. However, I have a Paradigm 2200W subwoofer. I recently had a chance to hear the Sunfire True Sub EQ 11" in action and was really impressed with what the little cube could deliver. Does anyone use one with their setup? My Rotel gear is the 1068,...
