Do I need to do a firmware update on my new dvd player? Where would I get the update and directions. Do I need special cables or anything?

Contact Denon or your dealer. Denon will send you a disc with instructions if you need an update. -
Bryan, if you don't download the update software off the 'net and burn it to one of your own CDs then Denon will send it to you on one. No special cables are needed..

Yes, on Denon's website, register and log in, in the owner's area. Then you can download update files and instructions. Like the guys said, if you don't want to download it and burn to a CD-ROM, just submit a request in the same place, and Denon will mail you a CD.
I've done both of these several times.

I went to Denon's website to check for a firmware update for my 2910. When I put in the SN it says there is none available. The Denon rep at CES said a new one was just released

I've been hunting for a new universal DVD player to partner with my new Sony HD plasma [1024x768] with DVI (hdcp) input.
Considerations:
- 60% Movies / 20% SACD & DVD-A / 20% CD
