Features and price has never been Pioneer's problem and it'll remain to be seen if their power amps are up to par this time but it sure looks like a nice unit and I've always liked Pioneers gear displays.

I know a few years ago they had some issues but not in the last few years as far as power goes.

I have a pioneer eliete vsx43tx I love it but the only problem is the amp can't handle the impedance drop of my klipsch speakers so I got a Rotel 1080 200 pc to drive the fronts problem solved I'm saving for a Rotel 1098 to replace it Rich

Would it be a problem just using the Pioneer for it's features and hooking up a seperate amp for power?

Power should be no problem The 56TXi has 2x27,000uf caps.

                  805 tweeters?
                  by Herbonbay
I've had a pair of 805s for about a month. I have a Pioneer Elite 56TXi receiver. I was on the verge of buying a Rotel AMP and Preamp, but after spending several hours moving 805s around a dealers show room, and connecting them to every Rotel he had, I asked if we could hook them up to the Pioneer Elite....

iPod problems w/ Pioneer Elite VSX-74TXVi

                  All,

I recently upgraded my receiver from the VSX-56TXI to the VSX-74TXVI. All of my gear is connected per the instructions provided by Pioneer including my 40G iPod Photo. The 'ready for iPod' connection as sold by Pioneer has been a gigantic disappointment for me thus far. I'm able...
