Pioneer Elite 56txi and Mordaunt Short 500thx Speaker

I just picked up brand new with warranty the 56txi for $662.00 delivered. Any opinions on this unit? Quirks? Likes? Dislikes? Sound?

Also I have the Mordaunt Short THX certified home theater speakers. The fronts have built in 10in subwoofers with 150 watt amp for each.

Sorry bramin8r, no experience with either.

Two reviews at Audio.com on the elite, might find some reviews on your speakers there, too.

Don't own a Pioneer receiver, but I do keep an eye (ear) on them, as I think very highly of their disc players... furthermore, I recently helped a buddy set up his HT with a Pio VSX-9900 (equivalent of the 56txi – w/o HDMI, I think)... I was extremely impressed with the sound quality, which has been inching toward that of Marantz over the years... coming from me, that's a huge compliment... he was running it through Sonus Faber Domus series speakers... excellent for music and movies... did not notice any quirks... setup and manual were fairly straightforward.

You've got a fine AV receiver, as far as I'm concerned.

No experience with Mordaunt-Short... don't know where you're from, but they're not widely distributed in the US, and there is little discussion on them here.

Without music to decorate it, time is just a bunch of boring
production deadlines or dates by which bills must be paid.
