    Denon Link 3rd Edition

    I see that Denon has release the 3rd edition of the D-Link which has now got approval for SACD.
    They say that it is available as an upgrade for the AV A1SR, which uses the second edition.
    Q: Is it a software/hardware upgrade?
    and Is it available for the upgraded A1SE?(which is essentially an SR).
    Anybody know?
    I came across this on the www.audioholics.com website.
    My local importers here don't seem to know and say they have enquired.
    This was more than a week ago, so I am turning to the more informed.

      Some of the equipment from Denon is 3rd Edition compatible. Typically none of the DVD players are 3rd ed. My 3805 is 3rd ed compatible but the 3910 is not. My understanding is that it is a hardware upgrade and will require pin assignment for the connector. But no bets !

          The 3910 will have to go into the dealer and be upgraded(?free).

              Actually, the word on the street is that Denon will be releasing a firmware update by the end of June that will include the Denon 3rd ed also. It should be the 9-C version. You should be able to download it from the Denon site as always.

                  Before I bought the Denon 3910 I read alot of reviews about the macro blocking issue associated with Faroudja chips.
