    Home Theatre Calibration CD

Does someone know of a website from where I can download a Home Theatre Calibration soft file and then burn it locally. Or something which I can use as a Demo for the capability of the sounds across the various speakers, like planes wizzing past etc. Or can someone upload it to a FTP site. A DOLBY demo disk, maybe.

I know you can buy those in the US and Canada, but since I am not sitting there, I can only download and burn locally.

    Thanks!!

I don't know of a download, but jimmyp, the owner of the above advertised NextLevel A/V has great things to say about the Imax NASCAR disc. Not a NASCAR fan really, but a great presentation of your HT he says.

Your best bet is to have a member buy a copy of the disc(legit) and send it to you after you pay them for it. There are other options other than burning and downloading. There is nothing free(or pirated) that is out there.

Aha! atlast found the surrounds downloadable file also:
          http://www.sr.se/multikanal/english/e_index.stm

first download the last item called "Multichannelcheck" in either DD or DTS. It's in Swedish but that makes no difference, it will do the job.

Then an additional fun one is the "Banf Demo" which is a DTS 5.1 Swedish radio demo (but in English). Click Instructions then download. Make sure to enable DTS bitstream in your DVD player before playing your CD.

Also I will post a thread for converting stereo WAV files to 5.1 DTS Surround Sound CDs seperately.

            RSP-1098 Bass Calibration Observations
            by whmacs
            Hi All,
More of an observation than anything else, but I recently recalibrating my subwoofer using Digital Video Essentials. This disk has a 75db output level. So as usual I set the front left speaker to output 75db (77 on RSP-1098) with the speaker level set to 0db. I then cut over to the sub...

            Speak Level Calibration Question
            by whmacs
            Hi All,
This may be a dumb question, but the usual practice to calibrate speakers is to set your sound meter to the 70-75 db range, send a test tone through the left speaker and adjust the volume on your receiver until your sound meter reads 75db. You then balance the rest of the speakers using...

            Subwoofer Calibration Question
            by whmacs
            Hi All,
A real quick sub calibration question. When calibrating a sub using the test tones (or a test disk) is it best to leave the sub's speaker adjustment level on the processor at 0db and use the sub's volume control to get a 75db reading on an SPL meter or; set the sub's volume to say 1/2...

For those of you that want an unbelievable DVD to show your system off with or for you NASCAR dudes, you gotta get a hold of this disc.

I was visiting the ARCAM distribution center last Friday and I took in a few demos in their great showrooms. In one such room, they played an excerpt...
