Best Progressive Mode for Denon DVD-3910

I recently purchased a Denon 3910 DVD player and I'm struggling to determine the best progressive mode (Auto1, Auto2 or Vidoe1/2/3). It's best scores on the Secrets of Home Theater shoot out were on Auto2.

However, I don't know how to tell when the DVD I'm planying is Film-Based, 30-Frame Film-Based or Video based material to make the decision.

    Thoughts??

Just a guess....but most movies are 24 fps film based with the supplements often being video based.

TV shows in NorthAmerica would be 30 frame film based.

Variety and Music concerts would probably be video based

Mind you this is a guess. You could use a tool like DVDProfiler to help zero in on the DVD's specs:

and this is probably your best option.
Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

The 3910 has a flag on the display "F" or "V" it is on the lower left hand side, although it can get confused on some DVD's where the flag is not set correctly.
