    DVD steup

Hi, I'm new at this and was wondering if someone can help me understand the correct way to setup a multi source DVD player.
I just got a Pioneer Elite DV-59AVi that I'm hooking up to a Pioneer Elite VSX-39TX. My question is should I use the audio decoder on the receiver or the one on the player? analog, digatal or both.

    Thanks..

You'd use the ones in the receiver in your case. If both your units support firewire I'd use that connection to your receiver for DVD-A and SACD.

      Thanks for the advise

      Thanks for the reply

In this case the receiver does not have Firwire, so would my choices for DVD-A and SACD be analog and optical?

DVD-A and SACD will have to be analog. Regular DVD will be digital with either a digital coax or optical cable.
