New interlinks - as short as possible?

Hi, I want to start upgrading some cables in my setup. And ofcourse that costs (a lot of) money.
Now the problem: the shorter the cable the better it is. Right?

My dillema: buy cables for the setup now, which means 50 cm (approx. 1.6 ft) is enough for the interlinks and the digital coax.
But maybe not enough whenever future upgrades in equipment will take place. A cable of 1 m (approx 3.2 ft) is most common but not necessary for me.

Will it (soundwise) matter if the interlink is 0.5 m or 1 m?
    What would you choose?

The length of interconnects is inconsequential when used with solid state equipment. Passive preamps and tube preamps suffer from rather high output impedance, which when combined with a high reactance (from long interconnects) creates a low pass filter.

Either way, it's of little significance, given the distances you're considering. Use convenience as your guide here. A one meter cable will provide you with some 'wiggle room' if you want to move your equipment around in the future.

      Interlinks pre/pro -> amp?
      by suyver
      Hi all!

Just wondering, what interlinks are you using between your 1066's and your power amps? I'm going for a 1066 and a 1075 power amp in combination with KEF Cresta2 speakers. But I have no clue as to what interlinks I should use.

Any thoughts (even $0.02 worths) is...

Hi guys this is my first post here, but I really needed to ask this question.
I came home the other day with a new RSX 1055. I didn't really intend to, but it was such a good deal I couldn't refuse. Anyway all excited and also expecting a tthrashing from the boss (wife), to my absolute astonishment...

Halo JC 3 -- a step up from previous phono preamps in my system
      by Burke Strickland
A while back on this forum in a discussion about the Halo JC 1 power amps & JC 2 BP preamp that I am enjoying in my 2 channel music system, Chris D predicted that the next hi-fi component I would buy is the JC 3 phono preamp. At the time I wasn’t sure that was in the cards. I recognized its...

Hoping Class D amps will encourage more preamps
      by boe
      Howdy,

I was thinking with more companies starting to create Class D amps, I'm hoping to see more Preamps/processors from companies that used to create preamps. I remember in the early 90s there were many mid range companies such as rotel making preamps. They pulled out for whatever...
