    Dolby ProLogic - Bit Rate

I'm finishing up my compilation of bit rates for my DVD's and have a question. Were/are all DVD's encoded in Dolby ProLogic, Dolby 2.0 and mono encoded at 192 BPS?

I know that the DD 5.1/6.1 is encoded at 384 or 448 BPS and DTS is encoded at 754 or 1509 BPS, but I'm not sure about the rest.
    :sos:

I think DD 1.0 and 2.0 are encoded at "lower" bit rates because fewer channels are being encoded. I think there's a maximum per-channel bitrate in Dolby Digital so you can't encode 448 kpbs DD 2.0. I could be wrong though, and they're just saving space/bandwidth.

Ahhh, I thought you said Bite rate. If it had been that, your right DPL does bite compared to DD, LOL.

        Lex, you velly funny man.

Kevin, yeah I'm sure that DPL, 2.0, mono were all encoded at a lower bit rate, I just want to know what the bit rate(s) is.

PLIIx Cinema decoding of Dolby Digital 5.1 Sources with Denon AVR 3805. Please Help.

I have a problem with my new Receiver, Denon AVR 3805. When I play a DVD encoded with Dolby Digital 5.1 (connected to OPT1 input) and try to use the Surround Back speaker I only get PLIIx Music and can't get PLIIx Cinema as an option. Of course SB Channel is set to on.

If you haven't heard about this one yet in the HT community, stop and pay attention.

The film itself is a check-your-brain-at-the-door, guys' night out, shoot 'em up action film. Keanu Reeves actually does a very decent job as the title character super killer, maybe the most convincing...

Any issues with Rotel 1056/1067/1068 and Dolby Digital EX?
          by basementjack
I just got a new Toshiba HD-A3 HD-DVD player, and am noticing an issue with SD discs encoded in Dolby Digital EX - when I advance a track forward (aka chapter skip) the Rotel gets confused and outputs tons of noise.

Changing inputs on the rotel and back fixes the problem, so the output...

let me re-phrase the question, I recieved no replies, maybe I was not clear.

I have a 1068, but this applies to everyone with Dolby Pro Logic IIx and Dolby Digital.

When watching a movie encoded in Dolby digital EX (6.1) what mode are people using to listen to the movie...
