    surround mode use

    let me re-phrase the question, I recieved no replies, maybe I was not clear.

    I have a 1068, but this applies to everyone with Dolby Pro Logic IIx and Dolby Digital.

    When watching a movie encoded in Dolby digital EX (6.1) what mode are people using to listen to the movie in? Dolby Digital EX or Dolby Prologic IIx?

    I am driving 7 speakers, so that makes a difference.

      You can use either Dolby Digital EX or Prologic IIx - but in a 7.1 setup you will get notably better results from Prologic IIx as this gives different left and right centre back speakers (EX is mono on the left and right) and hence much better panning etc of effects accross the rear.

          Greetings all,

          Has anyone had a problem with very noticeable static or crackling type noise when using Dolby PL II or any of the other surround modes? It does not happen in Dolby Digital mode or even 2ch stereo mode. It only seems to be ProLogic II or any of the music surround modes....
