    Wallmounting basstraps

    Hi all
I don't know if this is the wright place to post this thread...
I need some ideas for wallmounting some basstraps in my listening room, without damaging them! Means without using addessive glues or silicons...
When I put them vertical (using Velcro Heavy duty giant coins ), everything is ok... But horizontal it is a disaster! Anybody a good idea??

T-Pins work great with foam if you do not mind tiny holes in the wall.

Tri-Trap Bass Traps (GIK) stack easily and can be used without attachment to walls, ceilings, etc.

I am almost complete with my on going my room treatment project myself. I started out using echobuster products they came wrapped in Guilford fabric. Bassbusters and Cornerbusters in the corners. Standard Echobusters on the 1st reflection points on side walls. Since ECHOBUSTERS seemed to have gone out of business I contacted REAL TRAPS, they recently started wrapping their traps with Guilford fabric in the exact fabric color I needed. I highly recommend REAL TRAPS.

I have contacted many room treatment companies and most of them recommend bass trapping on all corners, Reflection points (Side walls and Ceiling). Another suggestion is to have panels on walls floating about 2 inches from the wall to get the full benefit.

Being a big believer that room treatments make the biggest improvement just make sure they are hung in the optimum spots to get the maximum out of your sound system.

I see people using different positions for mounting corner traps.

The first photo is from a HTguide members system.

The second is from my system. I have a full bass trap at the bottom and a mid/bass trap in the top corner. The shoe box is temporary as I have been experimenting with placement.

I found significant improvement by locating the traps into the top and bottom corners as per the theory. Inserting the shoe box to raise the mid/bass trap significantly improves the sound clarity, detail etc. As I raised the mid/bass at each corner one at a time the sound improved each time. This is despite the gap in the middle. I just have to find a neater way of elevating the trap into the top corner.

note- I have full bass traps wall to ceiling at the front of the room. The partial traps at the rear was my way of managing the accumulating cost. Its small $$$ relative to the rest of the system, and I may yet go with full bass traps over time.
