I am looking for a headphone amp that will enhance the sound of my AKG 701s. I have zeroed in on the Creek OBH 21. Anyone have any experience with the Creek? JNorth1178

I've never used a creek, but hear they are OK.
If you haven't already, head over to www.headfi.org or more specifically
http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f5/
I drive 701's from headphone jack on benchmark dac1 - seems to work fine.- Bottom

headphone choice
Again thanks for the additional sites. They DO get pricey, don't they? I did order the Creek. When it arrives I think I will show her a print out of one of the pages showing the options I had to choose from. It may soften the blow and allow me to keep my "inexpensive" Creek. Good listening. Give us some feedback after you have chance to listen to it for while.
From what I have heard, the Creek is known as V good value.
Hope it meets your expectations!
Congrats & Enjoy!- Bottom

I use a Ray Samuels Audio "Hornet" with my 701's out of a Wadia cdp and it makes for some very good listening.
@ $370 my first thought was "huh", but, don't let its "portable" size fool you.- Bottom

I finallly purchased the Creek OBH21. Got it yesterday. It sounds great. Clean, clear and open. I notice when I take them off, the sound I get from my speakers varies little from the sound I was getting from the headphones. My speakers are B&Ws. Thanks for all the help and suggestions. by whmacsHi All,
I'm contemplating getting a headphone amp for my RSP-1098 to improve two channel listening (I've got Jamo THX speakers which are great for movies, but not so good for music). I am tossing up between the MF XCAN v3 and the Creek OBH21SE. I've currently got a pair of Senn HD570 headphones,...-

by GleneeAnybody here ever used the headphone output amp on a Rotel 1070 Pre-Amp ? Is it sufficient to run a pair of AKG K701 Headphones or will it still require a separate headphone amp ?
thanks,

by JonJeffmanHey,
Not sure if this is a dumb question or not, but if a piece of equipment doesn't advertise it as having a headphone amp, are all the headphone outputs the same (i.e. like a line out or something)?
I was looking at buying some Sennheiser HD650's and read that they really need...-

by Gordon MooreOkay so the wife constantly tells you to put on the "cans" so as not to wake her or the kids. I like my headphones but I got a taste of the Dolby Headphone track on Perl Harbour and began my quest for a receiver that incorporated this algorithm. Well I settled on a Panny Digital Amp...but...-
