Are you looking for something that is floor based, wall-mounted, looks more like furniture, exposing DVDs, etc?

Try out www.racksandstands.com. There are other great sites, and some other great furniture, but it depends on what you're looking for.

What about having your equipment in a closet?
I'm finishing my basement and plan to have a dedicated closet and have it accesible on the back side in an adjacent room for wires and connections.
(I realize that it will require proper venting etc)

We install equiptment in closets all the time. Works great if you have the space & can afford the extra wire length.

I agree, always a good idea. My dream house includes a closet or very small room that would be a central hub for the house electronics--audio/video equipment, telephone distribution, internet, TV hookups, cable, satellite, security, automation, etc. If it's a closet/small room, you can just have air flowing through and always keep it cool for all the electronics in there.

My current theater uses an "alcove" on the side of the room that houses all my equipment and media. I close it off with heavy blackout curtains. Works fantastic, with lots of benefits to the room. If you want to know more, I'll keep going.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

            New Boxed Set Media rack
            by Lex
Ok, you ask, what's a boxed set media rack?

            Answer:

Any rack that you only put boxed sets on of course.

Here is one I've adapted to be my boxed set rack only. I liked it's relatively small footprint, and the ease with which these bakers style racks...

            DIY Equipment Rack

            Hey Guys,

I'm looking for some ideas on a cheap equipment rack to either buy or DIY. I'm not looking for an actual face mounting rack, but more like a shelf. The shelf would be placed in a closet in the ht room. Here is the equipment I need to place on it:

            I need a rack...should I buy or build?

            Hello...

I'm new here...been hanging out at AVS and "the goN". Glad to be here though!

I am building a 5.1 HT system in my basement. I would like to flush-mount all of my gear in a wall rack of some kind. There is a wall with a closet on the other side that...

Examples of equipment racks and/or tv stands
            by Dotay
I'm looking to put my recently purchased BT3100 to work by making a new TV stand and equipment rack. I have a general idea of what I want but I am always looking for inspiration.

I really like this rack from av123.

I would probably substitute black wood for the...

            Need your Ideas..........

I am fresh out. When my RPTV arrives, I will have to get rid of the stand that is shown in my Album (Galleries). Now, my wife and I agree that buying one of those RPTV wall units is too heavy (Big) for the room. However, my pics shown, does not show the 4 single recliners we've purchased. So here it...
