Blackie & the Rodeo Kings - "Let's Frolic"
This is my second listen - what a lovely album! Country rock probably describes it best.
Blackie & the Rodeo Kings are three Canadian musicians who get together occasionally to record an album. This is their fourth album from a total of five. If I was this good I'd make the arrangement more permanent.- Bottom

Richard Hawley - "Lady's Bridge"
I have to say, I'm a massive Hawley fan and his latest album finally had achieved great success - reaching #6 in the UK charts.
He played a fantastic gig in Dublin last November and is returning in Feb for another couple of nights. Can't wait!
Vincent.

Those of you who watch music DVDs will know Levon from The Band's farewell performance, "The Last Waltz", in 1976.
Levon has undergone extensive treatment for throat cancer over the last ten years. This has changed his voice quite a lot.
"Dirt Farmer" is Levon's first studio solo album since 1982.
I like it.

Listening to "Fear of a Blank Planet" by Porcupine Tree right now. Progressive rock.
Before that it was "Change in the Weather" by Eric Lindell. Contemporary blues.
Both are very good albums and completely different to each other.
It's Saturday afternoon. I've finished bashing the garden into shape, it's a lovely sunny day, my wife has just offered to make me a gin and tonic, and now I'm going to spend some quality time with my good friend Mr Hi-fi.

Noel Coutts - "Coming Home"
I had dinner with this guy a couple of weeks ago and he gave me this CD for my birthday. What a great album! I listened to it with friends for the fifth time last night at a fairly high volume, and we all got up and danced. That's fairly rare these days. With all the new music piled up at my place listening to a CD five times is also quite rare.

One of the few ‘Greatest Hits Albums’ I own.
On the Columbia label, decently remastered.
Yeah, I know, I’m on a nostalgia trip........
Still.....one hell of a brass section with tremendous arrangements.

This greatest hits album has very good sonics, best I can tell. I'm really enjoying it, but it's the only Steve Miller Band album I own.

Not a CD, per se, but I've been playing "Rock Band" tonight. I've got a new found appreciation for several songs, like "Won't Get Fooled Again" by the Who. Gonna have to pick up some of their albums, methinks.CHRIS

Trying a new one: Barenaked Ladies - Are Me
I'd heard a couple of tracks off this disc and picked it up. Turns out that the two I initially heard are the only ones on it I like. Overall it's a little lightweight and kind of pop-ish. :nonod:.

It's been awhile huh?
on 2/14/08, my car was broken into and two books (672 CD's total) were taken out of my car.
This was my entire collection. Stupid to leave them in the car, I know, but I was just back from a friends and had forgotten them overnight.
One night was all that it took.
So right now, I gues you could say I am not currently listening to anything.

Well Eric, for a guy who has just had his collection stolen, it's probably in poor taste for me to tell you that I took possession of the following albums this week. This is my first binge for a while as I've been catching up on the material I got before Xmas.
Wilco – Kicking Television: Live in Chicago
Blue Rodeo – Small Miracles
Ryan Bingham – Mescalito
Roomful of Blues – Standing Room Only
Paul Kelly – Stolen Apples
JJ Cale – Rewind: The Unreleased Recordings
Gov’t Mule – High & Mighty
Widespread Panic – 'Til the Medicine Takes
Patti Smith – Trampin’
Colin Linden – Southern Jumbo
Otis Taylor – Definition of a Circle
James McMurtry – Best Of The Sugar Hill Years
Robert Earl Keen – What I Really Mean
Dave Alvin – West of the West
Jens Lekman – Night Falls Over Kortedala
Amy Winehouse – Back to Black (my wife wanted this one but I'll give it a go too)
Uncle Tupelo – Anodyne
I bet you had some of those in your collection.

WAY TO STICK IT TO ME NIGEL!
One thing I want to know is... how did you get my cd's so quickly after they were stolen? That was one industrious thief.
And um... You are going to love Kicking Television. Check out Loose Fur if you ever get a chance. It's Tweedy of Wilco in another band. The Ruling Class is a song on the live album that came from Loose Fur.Hello, my name is Eric and I am a music addict.- Bottom

Ryan Bingham - "Mescalito"
This is Ryan Bingham's first album and it's an excellent one. It was released late in 2007.
Ryan is a 25 year old chap with the raspy, bourbon-soaked voice of a 54 year old. He plays a variety of styles ranging from folk to americana to country rock. I'm predicting a long and successful career.
Note: I'm 54 but I still have the voice of a teenager due to my clean-living lifestyle. Let that be a lesson for you hard-living blokes out there.
