Right now I'm listening to a CD-R with The Motels , Natalie Merchant , The Kinks (live) and Patti Smith. With a nice Blues Traveler and Meatloaf finish.

Emily Remler, (jazz guitarist), "East and Wes". Concord records.

The unfortunate thing seems that her best and last album, "This is Me" is out of print.

Best disk out last year IMO, Steve Wilson of Porcupine Tree and some Israeli pop singer together for some great harmonic mood music, best purchase in the last 5 years for me, every song is good.

Daddy, is that the most recent Porcupine Tree album that's being touted on the DTS website, or something else?

I've actually been hooked to a rap CD lately (I like rap, but I usually don't like rap albums)

Lil Wayne - The Carter 2
Incredible album. If you that like rap, or even a bit, get it.
Definitely one of the best rap albums I've heard in years.

Rolando Villazon - Italian Opera Arias
His first cd, as far as I know.
I saw him last summer in Covent Garden in La Boheme; wasn't crashed by his voice.
This cd lets hear a better voice, but sometimes he sings too - what shall I call it? - 'mannered'. If he would do it in a more straightforward way it would sound even better.

Then yes, I have it and it is quite excellent, the DTS tracks have far better bass resolution then the redbook version which is evident a very loud listening levels.

Mozart Requiem, revised and completed by Robert D Levin.

Its my 4th classical music cd. One day I would like to be able to afford some B&W 800 series speakers so I need to cultivate an appropriate musical taste. Otherwise I have been listing to the Ravonettes which I picked up on Friday. "Love in a trashcan" is the only track that really does it for me, much of the rest of the album is a bit too poppy n nice. I prefer the Dandy Warhol's relatively rougher edge to my pop.

Now where was I, 1791........not such a bad year for music!

Beth Hart. Good album. I saw her as the lead-in act for Jonny Lang a couple of years ago. She's scary looking, but puts a lot into her music.

Sound Track from Good Night and Good Luck. It's pretty good.

Not household names, but in their time, they were peers of, and competitors for court favor with, Telemann, Vivaldi and other (today) more well known Baroque composers. Superb sound, stellar playing, engaging performances of the music.

Just before that -- Warren Zevon "Excitable Boy". That's the album that introduced us to "Werewolves of London". But it also contains several other clever and memorable songs worth hearing again, including "Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner", "Accidentally Like A Martyr", and "Johnny Strikes Up The Band". The macabre title song could be about stories in today's headlines. But it isn't, because the album was first released almost 30 years ago (on vinyl, of course), and unfortunately, Warren isn't around to comment on current events any more.

This is a beautiful acoustic guitar song that is almost hypnotically mellifluous. I really wish he would do more of this type of music.

Well, I won't bore you with all I went through to find it but I finally located the song on a cd called "Gypsy Soul". I've only listened to a couple of songs on the cd so far but I can already state emphatically that if you are a fan of acoustic guitar you should definitely check it out!

The second track by Jose Luis Encinas, "Luna de Fiesta", was so good that I kept replaying it so I haven't listened to the rest of them yet. This song and Slash's are worth buying the cd for alone. Can't wait to hear the rest of the cd tomorrow!

"Crazy World" by the Laurence Hobgood trio, on the Naim label. An absolute must for anyone with even a passing interest in a piano lead acoustic jazz trio and a superb recording as well.
