    DIY Sound Absorbing Panels

I finished building some sound absorbing panels and thought I should share the results with everyone.

I feel that they made a great improvment in the detail and clarity of my system.

Basically I used the plans on TheAudioworx site but I did read Jon Risch's site too. I used the burlap idea from Jon R.

You can see photos and a couple of graphs on webpage.

I also want to thank ThomasW for all the help and guidance he provided :T

    Hi Pat

    Looking good.....

It's amazing how much the panels absorb and how the characteristics of the room can be changed by prudent use of them.

      Hey, Pat!

The room is looking great! :T Very nice job on the panels........It's very interesting to see the results that you measured. Some how I don't think the wife will let me put panels around the house but, maybe one at a time. Looks really good Pat.

        Thanks Thomas and Rick.

Rick, that's why the room is dedicated I can do anything I want in that room
Actually since I already had black curtains up you don't really notice the additional black panels.

          Hey, Pat!

Yeah, it is really nice when you can blend in the panels with the curtains. I'm sure that the curtains also help with the sound as well. Also, with the black framing around the screen it makes contrast on the picture looks so much better. The room has come a long way since you moved in. :T

DIY Acoustic Panels - "Transparent" Fabric Question
            by mlammert
I am getting ready to build some DIY acoustic panels for my listening room. I am building 5 of these panels; one for a ceiling cloud and two on each side wall (one for first reflection point and one for second reflection point on each wall). I have tested this by hanging some blankets and quilts at...

805S in corner...need sound absorbing panels?
            by tboooe
Hi, my wife recently exercised her right of eminent domain and claimed my office/listening room. It is now the kids play room...my 2 ch system has been relegated to small rectangular area in the living room. This is where my problem arises. Due to the shape of the space (imagine a rectangular area...

This is a rough drawing of the space that I am going to dedicate to my theater.

I am toying with the idea of building a wall on the top left part of the room.
Leaving an opening 20" wide to put components through and maybe a 28-30" opening to get back...

I finally took the plunge 3 weeks ago and purchased some 48"x24" ATS acoustic panels for the theater/listening room. In preparation for the new center channel Steve Manning is helping me with. Per the posts from Evil Twin getting a panel was required. I first ordered 6 panels, but then realized...

            Different plasma panels
            by bambrose

I'm now looking into a 42" plasma monitors for my system (I need some of my living room back). I'm looking into the tecnology end and I'vr noticed that some panels use the ALiS tecnology. These panels supposedly give you more resolution and better brightness by getting rid of the horizontal...
