cheap, intuitive measurement software for students

I've received all of my drivers, and have a sundry to test :B I've heard the ECM8000 + mobilepreusb is the way to go, but what about for software?

I'd like to measure frequency response, thiele small parameters, impedance, and I would love the ability to test non-linear distortion.

Whats a cheap, intuitive software package that will enable me to measure these things? I'm a student, so <$200 if possible and purchasing off eBay is fine with me :B

Don't know about distortion testing, but it'll do everything else.

Also, I would go with a Firewire audio interface over a USB one, though I don't imagine it makes that much difference.

I'm aware of that thread, but the websites dont include information regarding whether the product is intuitive or not (big criteria for me, I'd like the experience to not saturate ALL of my patience).

I dont have a mac, looks like it requires Mac OS X 10.4.6.

You might as well get started with Speaker Workshop. It's free and not as challenging to use as SoundEasy:

Some of these programs have 30 day trials- those can be handy for getting a feel for the program, and deciding whether or not it's likely to make you tear your hair out.

ARTA is probably the most powerful of the affordable measurement programs. You can test it in demo mode which is fully functional except loading and saving of files.

As a beginner, try speakerworkshop and follow Roman's tutorial. www.rjbaudio.com. Worked for me. I'm now upgrading to LSPcad.
