    Invictus Build

I posted a build thread as I went at techtalk, might as well do a shorter one here

I put Curt C's Invictus kit from meniscusaudio in a cabinet based off of the ZaphAudio ZRT.

So it is a 3/4" Baltic birch cab approximately 38 Lt tuned to 30 hz with a 2" wide 5" long port. The Baffle is 1.5" thick

They replaced Troels designed 3 way classics, and they are pretty much better in every way for my small listening room. Much better bass, equal mids, more detailed highs.

Any questions or pic requests don't hesitate to ask

Nice. What are you plans for finishing, paint or stain?

Haven't you heard to improve imaging and soundstage, you should always wear socks.

Well, Pete, socks will lower the diffraction, for sure, but with bare feet you can tune the imaging better... :W

Wool socks - nice soft merino silk blend if you can get it. Hand knit. Huge upgrade in sound.

But maybe Curt (who also signs off "C" - the other C to me) designs for bare feet!

This design looks great and your build does it justice. Nice stuff!

Yes, he's serious folks. His wife knits his socks!

I've published a new 2 way on my Speaker Design Works site using the new CSS LD25X tweeter and the Scan Speak 18W8531G Revelator. This is one of the most musical designs I've done in quite a while, and I find myself listening to it more often than not. The CSS tweeter is first rate and in my...

Trying to Understand the Practical Use of Linkwitz-Riley Crossovers
                    by JonW
So the more I read, the more I see people write that Linkwitz-Riley crossovers, especially second-orders, are as close to audio nirvana as you can get, in terms of speaker design. Fine. So I’ve read about them over the past couple weeks. The Loudspeaker Design Cookbook explains a little. A good link...

Zaphaudio & DIY community - Thank you
                    by Rmaz
I recently finished a new set of loudspeakers – Zaphaudio BAMTM’s. These speakers replace my 30 year old Cerwin Vega’s. All I can say is the sound quality of these new speakers is exceptional and exceeds my expectation. As an added bonus, the construction part was very enjoyable.

John Krutke (aka Zaph) has posted his full and final farewell. Maybe another decade away from the hobby will bring him back, but for now, it's a nice valedictory.

It is really crazy, once you rolled in this diy audio world you can’t get enough of it . Even if you keep on reading and every time you read things you not knew of. Maybe that’s why I can’t get enough of it

So like I said I read some nice things for like a week or...
