SSP-600 balanced audio and a sub question

The gear: SSP-600, Cambridge Audio 840C player. Can I add a sub to the balanced sub output of the ssp-600 while using the Cambridge audio cd player with the balanced audio inputs of the ssp-600? Thanks

Yes, as long as you did not select the bypass in your setup / input menu.
Make a configuration, select sub and fronts, a setup the config.

Thanks, it worked like a charm!

Thanks for the reply. Would this affect the audio quality of the cd playback, besides adding to the low end?

          Balanced input sound distortion

Blues Eyes, Thanks for your reply. When I change the balanced audio input from "analog bypass" to "dsp enabled" The midrange seems to get a little distorted. The sub comes on but the difference in midrange is somewhat subtle but noticable. Is there something I am missing in the settings?
          Thanks again

If you are using the analog inputs and switching to DSP enabled you may have to turn down the offset. If the input voltage is too high the DSP can be overloaded and you will hear distortion. I have a customer with an SSP-600 with a CDP-100 and had the same issue when using the balanced inputs. Once he turned down the offset it sounded great. Not as good as analog bypass, but still pretty good.

              Hifiguymi, Offset is greyed out.

Thanks for your reply. How to turn down the offset as it is grayed out? Thanks again.

First select the input you want to change and then open the setupmenu and change the setting.

Just got my 3200, CDP-102 and SSP600. Thanks to Photoman, Rebelman, sikoniko, Kal, etc. who helped me along the way.

Very happy so far. Two channel CD playback is superb, with more extended highs and lows than I ever had. Great detail, very musical, very natural. Played around with...

                    Hello all.

I have a 1068. It appears to be working fine, but i want to make sure somethign is normal, so i can get it fixed (for free) if it is not.

When listening to just about all kinds of music, the sub output works fine, and the sub is working great.

I have a car audio sub, Elemental Design's e12a, that I'm thinking about moving in for home audio purposes. It'll take 500-600 watts to get it moving in a ported box, probably near 1000 in a sealed one. I'm wondering if I could buy a sub that might perform better for this application. Here are some...

Hi, I know this is not a JL Audio Sub section but I know that a lot of the people on this forum like me have B&W 803Di speakers with JL audio Fathom 113 Sub. I have a serious problem where the pin of my RCA cable broke off in the Lt/Mono socket on the back of my sub :M . Any suggestions on what...
