CPRM has been under discussion in public for about a year (well, not very much discussion!), and in development quite a bit longer.

It's another piece in the package of controlling what you can and can't do on your PC. It's another beut that the powers that be in the entertainment industry are trying to slipstream into law without drawing the attention of consumers... until it's accomplished fact.

Bastards! WAP is the beginings of this control. I have also read that they want to make future OS's cost support based. That is as you require service packs, you must pay for the support once the OS's timed life has ran out.

More simply put, you couldn't give or sell you old windows XP disk to anbody, for if they wanted to use it, they would have to re-pay MS or who ever for the use and support. GRRRR!!!!

This pre-planned failure of the equipment though really frosts my cookies. those bastrads better not start jerking with my equipment or I'm going to find a new hobby :F
