Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse

Hi!,

I connected this new wireless mouse to my Dell PII 266 MHZ computer.
The design and feel of the mouse is excellent.
However I find that the pointer moves across the monitor in a slightly jerky movement.
Not as smooth as my regular Microsoft Mouse that comes with a wire.
This mouse also features the Optical precision technology.
I am also using my regular mouse pad, nothing special.

Is this normal operation or is there something not quite right here.

Trev, I can't say if that is normal or not, but my only experience with wireless was lousy, so for me, I stay "wired". Myself, I am a trackball guy. I use the Microsoft trackball that has the red light around the ring. Love it. Trackballs do take some getting used to, but once you do, you won't want anything else. The biggest problem I have with it, is what do I do with all these mouse pads now? (hint, get the slick kind, they make great coasters!)

Actually, I just got me a leapard print mouse pad, sort of fitting, don't you think. Hey, nobody said a trackballer couldn't use a pad.

Trev, that seems to be a common complaint with cordless mice. This is why hardcore gamers tend to use wired ones only.

The cordless is good for non demanding applications like HTPC, or where this type of functionallity is required. However gamers and Autocad users would toss it.

I'm not sure what creates the lag, maybe Jon would know better. I tend to think it may have to do with the transmission rates not being able to provide the nessesary resolution of fine mouse movements.

I am starting to get used to this mouse and am actually really liking it.
The feel and shape of it is awesome.

Playing around with the settings has helped.
You can adjust its speed and sensitivity, so I have it set now where the lag is not as prominent as it once was.
