    Kevin's "GEEK POLL"!

Here's a little fun for the 'puter geeks that hang out on here! It's my official GEEK POLL. Reply with your answers and we can compare notes! Feel free to add new questions too, if you think of something good to add!

What kind of geek does it make me if I don't want to fill all this out? LOL.

It's enough to say, if it's a toy, I have 2. IF it's a computer, I have 8 at least, lol. But primary in service are, 3 for me, 1 for daughter. (She keeps me in new laptops, by stealing my old ones, lol. She's now been through 3 of mine at 19. Last time, she got my good little Sony compact PC. It was a cool one too with docking station.

Now, I am up to 3.0 Pentium 4 laptop. (Sony Viao), and using a dual CPU desktop. (workhorse), Dual 120 gig drives, gooduns'.

Whoever it was that said they don't have virus protection. GET SOME!!! You have to have it to be a geek, and you need it so that you know you aren't infecting others, like the nimrod that his system emails Kevin and I daily. I get Netskys, I get others as well. I get so many viruses emailed to me, that it's almost frightening. I don't leave home without Virus protection, and I don't go home without it either. You shouldn't either.

It's to cheap not to have it. Also, if you open attachments at all, you will get nailed eventually. Also, everyone should have firewalls as well, both hardward and software.

                Lex

I don't play games unless you count Freecell, nor listen to music or watch DVDs on them. Both big systems are designed to run Photoshop and 3D modelling/rendering software. I have to say that even with calibration, the LCD is the worst monitor in the bunch and I really, really like the 900. The Epsons are way better than any other colour printer I've ever tried. The Lexmark colour laser is very accurate for print size and placement and the E-10 is more camera than most people will ever need. My favourite CD-Rs are Fuji because they've never become a coaster and MS mice have better ergonomics than the Logitechs.

My next upgrade: I've been thinking about a tablet, but have held off since they don't offer very good video. The people most likely to get a tablet are digital designers, yet they have failed to offer good displays or video cards. Even though they bundle Alias Sketchbook with almost every model, they just don't understand who the real target buyers are. No wonder the tablet market is failing. Stupid mfgs!
