    Powering off PS3 question

Does anyone else's PS3 not power down after holding their finger on the power button?

Instead of the green LED turning red, the LED remains green and blinks repeatedly. Anybody know what I am doing wrong?

Isn't holding the finger there a factory default?

Are you sure you are holding your finger over the power button and not the eject button?

Also, you do need to hold it on the power button for a few seconds, not just one push.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

Yeah, hold your finger on the power button for a few seconds. Going from memory, I'm pretty sure the LED on my PS3 does blink for a few seconds while it is shutting down and then it turns to solid red. It's not an immediate transition from holding the button down to it going red.

Sorry, I was not very clear. I am positive I am talkig about the power button. I do push down on the button until I hear a beep. The LED then blinks a few times and sometimes the LED turns red. Other times, the LED does not turn red, instead it stays green and I believe the blue LED keeps blinking.

Am I the only one with this issue?

What should happen is this, the green lite will blink while blue stays on and then blue will go off and then green should blink just once more, than finally red goes on.

Agreed. Last night the PS3 powered down fine. More than not, the red LED will not light-up, the green LED will continue to blink.

I have tried ejecting the DVD prior to powering down. That does not help.

Came home, turned everything on, and the image had a green tint. Everything else was normal. Didn't go away until the 8300 was reset. Everything is in a cabinet, and the PS3 was left on so everything was very hot. Has happened before when I'd be playing xbox or PS3 and then turn them off and the 8300...

                  Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if a fellow owner with a RSX-1550/1560/1570 & a PS3 could help me out with a test. When you are using your ps3 via HDMI it should show mutli-channel but when you play a divx does it go play in D PLII?

                  by vsarathy
                  Hello All:

I use a Denon DVD-1600 player for DVD-Audio playback in conjunction with Rotel-1098 processor. The problem that I have is actually more with the Rotel remote controller.

According to the manual, pressing down and holding any of the input buttons on the top row...

1098 Display shuts off permanently after holding down display button
                  by Quantronics
I know there's been a lot of anticipation in getting the 1098 display to turn off and remain off when you silent the display. My system can do it! There's only one problem, I can't back track and replicate it each time. I typically leave my system on 24hrs. I also turn on my zone 2. I'm not sure...
