    Meridian M33 speakers

Anybody familiar the Meridian M33 active speakers
I just ran into a deal and was thinking of using them as computer speakers, but can't find any reviews...but I can get a pair of brand new in the box for
    $1,000.00 (us).

are these good speakers for the price ? I believe they are the older analog speakers.

Picked up the Meridian M33's today..

        Cute little speakers..15.5 inches x 6 inches wide x 9 inches deep..
each have twin amps (85w bass, 65 x treble)
        aluminum tweeter with neodymium magnet
2- 5" carbon fiber long throw woofers..

Great computer speakers...sound stage was a undefined so i connected them to my rotel pre and rotel cd player..sound stage was much better..
so much for the creative X-fi pro... guess I look at other sound cards or maybe I can find a way to tweek what I have..after all I got them to play with.

the speakers have excellent mid range, the bass is impressive for their size
think I'll get a sub woofer though..high frequency a little edgy at high volume
        might be sound card though.

I don't now if I would have purchased if I had to pay full retail ($2600.00 usd)
I got em for less than $1k ..discontinued model in warehouse (close out) last two they had.. for the price ..they are excellent..the more I listen to them I might have purchased full retail...don't think I could have found anything better for the computer.

        bottom line... I'm happy

Digital (DSP) Speakers Versus B&W thinking about HTM1D
          by misterdoggy
Well Guys its been a while since I posted, but would like to say Hi to All my friends on the Forum HI

I am currently pondering either changing all my speakers and going with DSP Meridian Speakers or staying with B&W and changing my HTM2D for a HTM1D.

          The reason:...

802Ds with Classe or Meridian or both?
          by skuzzyb
Ok, after months and months of research and listening to almost everything under the sun, I have finally (well kinda) decided on my HT set up.

          B&W 802D
          B&W HTM2D
          B&W DS8S

Suggestions as to whether Meridian is a suitable pre/processor upgrade
          by ShadowZA
I'm planning an upgrade for the end of this year/early 2007 and it looks as though this could be a probable upgrade path:

          1. Power amp: Replace Rotel RMB-1075 amp with a Krell KAV-2250 to drive the B&W Nautilus 804 rears. RMB-1075 will be relegated to living room stereo duty to drive...

          Meridian M33 speakers
          by sonicbaer
I posted this on tower of power but thought I might broaden my audience. I think I stumbled onto a pretty nice deal...I passed it up at first but then started thinking these might be fun to play with hooked up to my computer.

Anybody familiar with the Meridian M33 active speakers ? I...

Meridian shaped DIY towers - noob effort
          by TimRawson
Well... I know I could get scrutinized for "undesigned" speakers. But, noticed that the drivers in my meridian dsp5000's were extremely affordable models of seas drivers. Like the sound... Sold them off. While I know much of the magic is cabinent design and crossover (especially in the...
