    Aspect ratio

Still new at the front projection system even yhough I'm convinced its the way to go.
My question is: If I purchase the Z2, will I still be able to use my DVD's that are 4.3 even though the projector is 16.9?
    Thanks a million,

    The Chuckster

Added note; my room is 11X14. How close can I be to the screen and still have a great picture and what kind of screen can I get away with?
Got to watch the budget. Wife says I'm a little nuts.

    Thanks guy's.

chuck, you can absolutely watch a 4:3 movie on a 16:9 projector. Two ways to do this: first, you can watch it as a 4:3 movie with black bars on the left and right of the picture. This would be preferable, but may depend on your setup, projector type, etc. You can also watch it so that the 4:3 image is stretched to fill the 16:9 screen. The image would be stretched and somewhat distorted.

As far as viewing distance, the general rule of thumb is to get no closer than 1.5 times the width of your screen. (i.e. for a 6 foot wide screen, sit no closer than 9 feet)

Hey Guy's, the old chuckster back here with you after a brief pause.
My Z2 should be on the way but before I buy a screen (big bucks) I'd like to experiment with the paint and (or) a bed sheet. Would like to size up everything.

        4805 Screen Installation
        by ToddT
I'm attempting to setup a 16x9 80"x45 DIY projector screen.
I have the projector installed on the ceiling.

I am having a problem getting a consistent horizontal size from the SP4805!

I started by projecting a blank (blue) image onto the wall and then used the...

Well I've poured money into the audio side of my system only to have totally ignored the video side.Enough is enough.

I purchased a bunch of the SMX AT screen material for a 100" wide acoustically transparent screen. My RS WTMW will be shelf mounted behind the screen for a better...

        The whys and why nots

I've spent alot of time on this forum and was impressed with the fervor some owners displayed toward their Rotel Gear. So, yes, visiting this forum prompted the Rotel purchase. I was also considering Adcom, B&K and Carver but the Rotel seemed the best product considering its price.
        The speakers...
