Yeah, we've talked about this one in a few other threads here on the Guide. I'd LOVE to buy this one, but if nobody noticed, it's $400. Wow. I should be getting Digital Video Essentials today in the mail, which is also brand new but only $20 or less.

For those who don't know, new editions of Avia and Digital Essentials are about to be released for new technologies since the original editions. Both videos are useful reference items to use in learning about, setting up, and fully calibrating your system in both audio and video. I own both original... -
I've been using my good ol' avia disc to do my calibration for years now, but I was thinking about stepping into the Hi-Def discs. It seems that AVIA doesn't have a blu-ray disc so I was looking into to getting the 'Spears & Munsil High-Definition Benchmark Blu-ray Disc Edition' or the DVE: HD Basics.... -
This last week I was calibrating my RSX-1055 and noticed a problem. I was using the AVIA disc in a Panasonic DVD player. The DVD player is connected via both optical into one of the digital inputs, and analog into the multi-channel inputs. I did this due to the fact that the player can play DVD-A recordings... -

When calibrating your system with an SPL and say the AVIA disc (or some other) Where do you start with regards to the volume setting on the 1066? Do you set everything flat (i.e. factory defaults,) and then turn up the volume to a certian number. Or do you set the system flat, and turn up the volume...
