    OPPO video setting

    Hello All,

I just bought an OPPO BDP-83 and have a Sharp AQUOS which according to the specs on the website is HDMI 1.2a. I looked to see if it supports deep colour and 36 bits but did not find the info. The Wiki of HDMI says the following:

HDMI 1.3 was released June 22, 2006 and increased the single-link bandwidth to 340 MHz (10.2 Gbit/s). It optionally supports Deep Color, with 30-bit, 36-bit, and 48-bit xvYCC, sRGB, or YCbCr, compared to 24-bit sRGB or YCbCr in previous HDMI versions
So i have to assume that my LCD only does 24 bit. And finally the question:

What setting should I set the OPPO in video settings, the easy answer is 24 bit but what about the dithering settings, will they be better? If yes what do they do?

    Thanks

    Luca
