    Building a better Bridge!

I gotta tell you guys, Columbia's new "the Bridge on the River Kwai" is awesome!
The video transfer is excellent, the opening scene, just before the opening credits roll looks terrible, but as soon as the credits start rolling everything looks great, and stays that way!
The 5.1 soundtrack has a few things here and there to remind you it's 5.1, but most of it comes from the center channel (as it should) The soundtrack is very good, clean and clear.
Menus are simple and easy to navigate, but the packaging stinks!!! It takes what amounts to "disc abuse" to get this thing to release the disc, why in the hell can't these companies be happy with the good old Keep Case?
Anyway that's a minor thing, Columbia has given us a classic, and it's been given alot of TLC.
A must for every library. KennyG

    Restoration Of Films

I was watching The Big Country last night. I feel it qualifies as a classic western and was disappointed at the transfer. Obviously the original print is not in very good shape. The image was dark and the technicolor very drab. This film cries for a restoration, but I understand this is a very expensive...

As part of the new features on the BB, I want to create a list of the top 25 movies (movies, not DVD's) for HTGuide members. By "top" I mean the movies that affected you the most when you saw them, that have you coming back again and again. The list will be alphabetized and NOT in a "best...
