I already have a (too) big pile of unwatched discs, but I'm always on the lookout for something special. Anyone have a recent favourite release on disc to suggest? (the content need not be new, but the release should be, in the spirit of the question) Or maybe those days are over?
Any new "must haves" out there in DVD/BD land?

One recent release that impressed me is Russel Crowe's The Water Diviner.
A V well produced, filmed & scripted story of a father's search for the remains of his sons who lost their lives during the Gallipoli Campaign, also known as the Dardanelles Campaign, in Turkey during WWI.
The historical relevance & accuracy alone make this a 'must see' imho.
A V good film on its own & well worth the time invested.- Bottom

A lot of my purchases now are for either top enjoyment movies I'll watch again, which are increasingly fewer and fewer, or top audio or video quality flicks.
Some that come to mind are:
Godzilla (monster bass, not great movie)
Lego Movie
American Sniper
Gravity (3D or Atmos)
John Wick (Atmos)
Unbroken (Atmos)
Art of Flight (must have, especially in 3D)
If you haven't already seen my posts on Atmos audio, it's totally worth it, even if you don't go beyond a 5.1 or 7.1 system. The clarity is unbelievable.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

The film itself is a check-your-brain-at-the-door, guys' night out, shoot 'em up action film. Keanu Reeves actually does a very decent job as the title character super killer, maybe the most convincing...-
