7.5/10
I'm a bit of a foodie and have an affinity for Southern Europe (who doesn't?). So this probably gets an extra point or so for tugging at those particular heartstrings of mine.
Overall the story is pleasant if a touch unoriginal/predictable, particularly the inevitable culture clashing. The acting IMO though was top notch led by the wonderful Mirren in particular. The one scene where she dismisses an employee (not giving too much away there I don't think), she says more with her simple facial expression, than most actors can with an entire page of dialogue. It was a wonderful film moment IMO.
Beyond that, the visuals of the food and scenery are gorgeous. Made me home sick for a place I've never been and craving all manner of food.
Good date movie but don't expect it to alter your reality. This one's more "comfort food".
