    The Final Countdown - Status Report

    First off, if you are one of the people like me that have pre-ordered your copy of The Final Countdown from PFE (Pacific Family Entertainment), ISN'T THIS FUN?! :?

    I just got off the phone with "Wilma the receptionist" and the latest information she has from her boss is that the disc will be ready "the first part of March". The delay was caused by "trouble with/at the lab". So it looks like we'll get to wait some more. . . . :roll:

          you'll have to excuse my ignorance, but i've seen countless threads on this movie on various forums.... and i don't have a clue as to why everyone's so gaga over it. i'm not saying that it's a bad movie (i've never seen it), it's just that it'd be great if someone could share what they (and everyone else appently) love about it so much. is this the movie everyone means? please understand i'm not pre-judging this movie, i'm just wondering how it slipped beneath my radar.
          Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.

              If you're a science fiction freak like I am, you tend to love a well told story along with good acting. If you are not into SF, then you probably wouldn't get excited about this particular movie. You really should see it, though, Matt. It has drama, action, and believeability.

                  Yes, and the aerial footage is spectacular - especially if you are a "warbird" nut like I am! Tomcats and Zeros dogfighting - hehe, too cool!

                      Interesting. . . I just received a phone call from Michael at PFE telling me that my copy of The Final Countdown will be shipped "the first part of March" and to be looking for it.

                          What's the actual release date ? They don't always release the same date in Canada.

                              Unfortunately he couldn't (or wouldn't) give me a more detailed timeframe. :? Also, as this is a direct "sell through" and isn't a "general release" like we see from Sony or even a "limited release" like Criterion, you won't see this one in stores or available through a 'net vendor like DVD Empire. The only way to get it is to order from PFE.
