Hannibal - Not for the weak!

I had some reserves about seeing this one. I felt that I would miss Jodie Foster. I was wrong.

This movie best the original imo. Not taking anything from the "Lambs" but, Hannibal seemed to got that step further as a good movie should.

Superior acting, great story, and FX that would leave one in chills!!!

The transfer was good to great through out the disc. Sound was perfect (DTS track).

If you can stomach it, a must see for sure...I enjoyed it.

I saw this back when the dvd first came out and bought it. I did find the violence a little overdone. I mean, looking at someone's exposed brain while eating, ugh ! Still and all, it was quite engrossing, and as you say the picture and sound were superb.

I don't agree at all about Hannibal being better then the first...IMO what worked so well in the first one was that you really got into the mind of the characters, it was also more of a physiological thriller while Hannibal reverted back to gore which though pretty graphic even by today’s standards doesn't work as well in today’s desensitized world. The book works much better (as per the norm) but even it wasn't nearly as good as the first one. I do agree with the movies ending though over the books ending...just food for thought I would have prefered the movie let us into the minds of the charicters more (no pun intended)

            Hannibal Rising had its moments...
            by George Bellefontaine
... but in the end, I felt it was like one overlylong flashback. Glad I only rented it. And sheesh, I sure they could have found an actor that looked more like a young Anthony Hopkins. This young Hannibal Lecter was downright ugly.

            My RSX-1056 seems weak
            by scient
Setup my 1056 to power Studio-100, CC570 and ADP470's. But the sound from the speakers seem really weak. They don't seem to have any of the depth and resolution I loved about the Paradigms. I wonder if the 75W are inadequate and I should try a bigger 200W amp for the fronts. Also I need to set the volume...

Weak link in system for 804S's
            by Pez
Finally got a chance to listen some CD's with the new speakers and there is definately a weak link in the system. The biggest issue is bass is sort of boomy. I was suprissed by this as at one time my roommate had a pair of Def Tech BP2000tl's with 500 watt 15 inch subs built-in and it was never boomy....

            B&W subs: the weak link?
            by jayhawk75
there has been alot of discussion of subs lately. it seems to me that more than any other speaker position people on this forum are willing to mix in a non-B&W sub. alot of people mix velodyne, svs. is it somehing i am missing or does the matching of sound get thrown out when it comes to subs,...

            weak sub on the RSP-1098
            by sirbogey
Setup since yesterday: RSP-1098, RMB-1075, and RDV-1060 with catcables (just received, they are awesome); 2 fronts, 2 rears, 1 center, 1 sub (all speakers are Piega). I installed the most recent upgrade on the 1098 as well and then set to default settings.

            Cables are definitely connected...
