    Zombieland

Watched it--definitely NOT the movie I was expecting, which I thought would be either classic zombie horror, or something like "Shaun of the Dead". Instead it's a highly satirical comedy set in a standard apocalyptic world that has been ravaged by a virus that turns all infected into zombies, like "28 Days Later".

Style was quite similar to Tarantino, with extra style elements that worked very well, like captions that pop up during the movie (when the narrator explains "rules to live by in a zombie world") and then interact with the characters on-screen, who knock over letters as they walk by it or such.

Naturally, in such a movie, there is a very high amount of gratuitous violence, which is to be expected, but I thought even then it was overdone. (I personally feel we in society have gone wayyyyy overboard with this)

I really enjoyed the movie. Solid :4: out of :5: for me.

    Cardio!

I liked this movie as well. A slightly different take on the zombie genre.

Yeah. It was a fun movie. I just don't get the whole Bill Murray thing. Not that anything in a movie called Zombieland can or should need explaining, you understand. It's just that bit confused me somewhat.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Why, in a zombie world, would you sneak up on someone with a loaded shotgun, while all made up looking like a zombie? That not just silly, that doesn't make common sense.

Chris, most zombie movies fail to make any sense anyway.

Okay, this is true. ... and can probably be extracted to the majority of horror movies at all, actually, with ghosts, mutations, whatever, and of course, the gratuitous promiscuous young couple that get killed.

Yeah, what would a horror flick be without that.

I agree with everything you said Chris. I like watching "zombie" films and this was not what I expected either. But I did enjoy it very much. I liked the dark satirical edge that it presented. And poor Bill Murray..what a way to get taken out!
