    Grace Is Gone

A bittersweet little film about a sales clerk for a home supply store ( John Cusack ) who learns his wife, serving in the military in Iraq, has been killed in action. Unable to bring himself to the task of telling his two young daughters, he shields them from the truth by whisking them away on a road trip for a final few days of happiness before he realizes he must deal with the truth and tell his daughters about their mother.

John Cusack is excellent as the distraught and confused father, and Shelan O'Keefe and Gracie Bednarczyk are amazing as the young girls. A very nice film with a message that took many awards, including a Golden Globe for a musical score by Clint Eastwood.

I do believe he is an underrated actor. When you see him give this fantastic performance in Grace Is Gone, you wonder whey has hasn't been nominated for an Oscar.

Agreed, I typically enjoy John Cusack in movies. Can think of several that I really like, such as "Better Off Dead".

Grosse Point Blank is a great movie and one of my favourite Cusack performances (arguably my favourite).

This stars Julianne Moore in a true story based on the real life murder of socialite Barbara Daly Baekeland, a woman who married above her social class and gave birth to a son ( who was seen as a failure in his father's eyes ),thus sowing the seeds for a future tradgedy.

Let me preface this short review by saying I haven't seen "Charade" which is the inspiration behind the remake effort that is "The Truth About Charlie".

I'm that big a fan of either of the 2 main leads, Mark Wahlberg or Thandie Newton, but Jonathan Demme's name as...

                        The Ugly Truth was okay

It's another one of those " watch with the wifey movies" that I seem to be seeing a lot of lately.

The Ugly Truth stars Katherine Heigl as a TV producer facing the cancellation of her talk show due to poor ratings. She is a career-driven control freak who doesn't have much of...
