    Red Eye

This is the best movie I have seen this year so far!
    We really enjoyed it!

    Rachel McAdams is mesmerizing!:yesnod:
She was also in Wedding Crashers.

Red Eye : Lisa Reisert (Rachel McAdams) hates to fly, but the terror that awaits her on the night flight to Miami has nothing to do with a fear of flying. Moments after takeoff, Lisa’s seatmate,...

Trevor, I think you should get paid a retainer by the studio for pumping the movie like that.

      Nice pics.

I hope to rent it this weekend. Rachel is such a beautiful Canadian gal, too, isn't she. First film I noticed her in was Mean Girls and later her part in The Note Book. Right now she seems to be pretty hot in Hollywood.

Saw it and liked it. Very short film, though. Must have had the hell edited out of it.

Smells like an Extended Director's Special Collector's Limited Super Uber-Edition is a possibility.

Anyone notice any vertical scan lines??? I never saw anything like it before, tested progressive on/off, film mode auto/off/on, etc.. I could really see them in her face and any night-time shots of the plane flying..

Weird, just looked like the picture was sliced into 500 or so vertical strips.

I didn't see that, KevinD. I was watching it on my NEC HT1000 dlp on a 92" wide screen. Picture was quite nice. What was your viewing source ?

Nope. Others mentioned the vertical line issue as well if you look around. It's possible your equipment is masking it though.

Overscan wouldn't be affecting that. What dvd player are you using?

Were these lines seen throughout the movie or in just certain scenes ? I sure as heck didn't see them.

Pretty much if I looked hard enough they were there the whole time. Otherwise, any dark scenes or ones with a lot of the same color (close ups on a face, etc)

That's weird. Am I the only one who didn't see the lines ? If so maybe it's time to get an eye checkup. Naw, just had one.

It might be my setup.. We watched 'The Fog' last night (don't bother). Any of the foggy scenes had the lines (just like the dark clouds on Red Eye). And since most of the movie had foggy scenes I was able to experiment a bit more.

Progressive off can make them go away, but kills my settings (I never setup 480i). Progressive with pulldown forced to Film worked on this one. Not sure if the RDV-1050 has problem decoder or if there have been several films lately encoded wrong..

I use the Faroudja deinterlacer in both of my PJs, so maybe that's why I didn't see the lines.

Watched this last night. Forgettable and lame are the 2 words that come to mind. Then again I don't watch movies for T & A. I'm glad it only lasted 86 minutes.

We were. I'm sure quite a few folks wanted to watch it for Rachel McAdams's sake. My wife thought she was Jennifer Garner...

For me the movie was predictable and over all had no suspense or thrills. Flightplan was much better in that regard.

FWIW, I did not notice any issues with the video. Actually I thought it was pretty dang good. Mits 55" CRT via Component from Sony 80V SACD/DVD changer.

You didn't see those lines either. Wonder why some saw them and others didn't.

As for the film itself, yes, pretty predictable, but it zipped along pretty fast and I found it entertaining enough. Wouldn't watch it again, though.
