    R.I.P. , Batgirl

Yvonne Craig , the original television Batgirl , passed away today. She was also one of my favorite Star Trek characters , a psychotic Orion slave girl. Wearing black vinyl or green skin she provided me with a few memorable moments growing up. More of my childhood swept away by the march of time. http://www.inquisitr.com/2349109/ori...es-away-at-78/

    Very nice.

Batgirl didn't make as much as Robin? Well... not only was she a lesser sidekick, she may not have taken care of as many of Batman's ummm... particular.... "preferences"....

I think she was definitely the better actor of the two (her and Robin). And I would rather see her in the skin tight Batsuit than the little guy in tights. Really unattractive tights , at that. Although , the green nutcase in Star Trek is my favorite character of hers.

Amen, brother. Hot women in tights and spandex? Yes, please. Sexy half-nude with painted alien skin? Okay. I'll hit that.

Star Trek Beyond--most TOS-like film yet of the three new ones (or even the old ones)
          by Ovation
If you're a Trek fan (even if you're not warm to the new ones), you should find Beyond entertaining. I read somewhere (a review or a post on a forum--can't remember where exactly) that Beyond is a film that would slot in with the TOS films of the 80s, if only they'd had the tech/budgets back then. A...

          Ridley Scott's ROBIN HOOD
          by George Bellefontaine
Although Ridley Scott is rarely favored by the critics, he is one of my favorite filmmakers. Few directors today can bring a story and character(s) to life as well as he does, even though the studios often try to murder his work. In the case of ROBIN HOOD, he takes a totally different approach than...

Here is the one-line synopsis for this sci-fi film from director Jonathan Glazer: "an alien inside a woman's body wanders around Scotland, during which time she kills a few men by enticing them into a trap using her sexual allure".

Why is the alien there? Why is she killing...

Here it is, the fourth - and possibly the last - of the movies featuring the cast from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Yes, I said the last - one of the bylines touting this film is "A Generation's Final Journey

New Star Trek movie sure to be bittersweet--Anton Yelchin (Chekov) died yesterday
          by Ovation
However one feels about the Trek revival on film (I've watched Trek since the fall of 1973, as a 6 year old, seen every episode and movie of every version of Trek--I'm a big fan of the new movies), any Star Trek fan (or fan of movies) has to be saddened at the news of Anton Yelchin's tragic death yesterday,...
