    The King's Speech

Just saw this yesterday. What a great movie, my girlfriend and I were extremely pleasantly surprised by this movie. Not quite the ordinary roles for some of the actors/actresses but this movie was SO well done. I give it 10/10.

Stellar acting, extremely detailed to being historically accurate, production value, everything about this movie was top notch. I'd highly reccomend it to anyone who doesn't need a constant adrenaline rush to be engaged. Rather refreshing from many of the movies that have been released over the past year.

I was a youngster when King George reigned so at the time I wasn't aware of his speech impediment. Later I read about it and now look forward to the film.

I haven't seen this one yet George but I do know that they've been quite loose with history for dramatic effect. That should test your memory (and mine).

Saw this last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a beautiful piece of cinema and really worth seeing. The acting is superb although the two male leads are sublime in their characters, I have to say Helena Bonham Carter, an actress that excels in playing evil - was just really amazing at how she conveyed the sensitivity of a loving wife.
            Vincent.

I don't want the world. I just want your half.

Probably not a film for everybody. It moves slow, is about The Royals, and if you have no knowledge about the Royal Family and its history, you may find it all a bit confusing. But this is one helluva movie with fantastic performances by Colin Firth in particular, but also great supporting performances...

Well, I used to visit this site often and the advice was great. I also thought there was freedom of speech and freedom to express your differences. After all, no one here is an expert in any one subject which is why this forum and others exist. Perhaps ill re-visit in a few months and see if things...

              Street Kings pretty gripping

This cop drama is based on an original story and screenplay by James Elroy (L. A. Confidential ) and that was reason enough to get my interest in this film. It stars Keanu Reeves as a detective in a special squad that makes its own rules. It's headed by Forest Whitaker. Nasty things happen that get...

Movie versions of books (or vice versa)
              by Chris D
This may be a good discussion. The topic is popular books that have been made into movies. By and large, my personal opinion is that movie renditions of good books fall far short for a few reasons. First, I think due to the media of print, books allow for a much more thorough immersion of the reader...
