    Meet the Fockers

I plan to see this at the theater. Who is with me?

I do have to say that I have guarded optimism regarding it though. The last Deniro comedy sequel was atrocious.

I don't know about the Fockers, but Meet The Parents seemed to try too hard to be funny at times. I will probably wait and rent it on dvd.

I loved Meet the parents...one of my all time favorites!

Meet the Fokers is without a doubt a must see. That said I agree about the cautious optamisim. This has the makings of a turd or a classic. Hopefully it will be the later.

I guess I'd better go see "Meet The Fockers" at a commercial theater. I really enjoyed "Meet The Parents" in the theater, but haven't yet made it all the way through the DVD despite trying several times.

I agree that DeNiro's work has become spotty. Used to be a real treat to watch him act regardless of the vehicle. Now it seems in at least half his performances like he's just there to collect the paycheck. A critic at MSNBC has noticed the same thing: DeNiro No Longer Brilliant?

As for DeNiro's comedy sequels, "Analyze This" was hilarious. "Analyze That" wasn't. Let's hope "Meet the Fockers" doesn't lock in a downward trend.

PS -- the scene in the clip they showed last night on The Tonight Show when Dustin Hoffman was a guest was pretty funny. If the whole movie is up to that statndard, it should be very enjoyable.

What you DON'T say may be held against you...

I would guess that Hoffman and Streisand will save this one.

I saw it and loved it loved loved it. It's even more hilarious than the original. Streisand and Hoffman pull this off and I usually hate Streisand.

The movie is a bit raunchy(sp?) at times but this is to be expected with a name of Fokker. Lots of surprises. See this at the theater and laugh ALOT. Funniest movie all year(2004).
