    Marantz dp870?

    Hello All,

    Anyone using this DD prosessor? I have it hooked up with my Yamaha rxv-3000. What a major difference between the two. This is the econmical way of getting into separates. The DVD player & cable box is plugged into the dp-70. The Yamaha is used for power only.

      Your dealing with some old school Marantz...well at least old for hometheater.

      That DP was orginally for use with the receiver I have or use with Marantz Mono Blocks.

      I have an SR-870 that is suppose to be matched up to that and would love to get my hands on one so if your wanting to get rid of it let me know

      I worked at a HT store in college when it came out and sold a lot of them...nice piece of equipment for 5.1 and get you into seperates.

              Hello All,

              I know this is "old school" but anyone using this prossessor with the DTS upgrade? I'm using the DP870 with a Yamaha RX-V3000 in the bedroom. Major difference in sound when I A/B Dolbly Digital DVD/ HDTV shows. There's a DP870 with msb dts upgrade on sale on audiogon....

              RSP976 hooked into a Yamaha RVX3000's 6-channel input for sound.

              Hi,
              I bought a Yamaha RX-V1500 a few weeks ago. I chose Yamaha mainly for the features and reliability but find the sound to be a little harsh. I still have the option of returning it for a Marantz SR-7500/8500 or a Rotel 1056.
              I would tend to lean more towards Marantz for reliability....
