    Speaker / subwoofer setup

I use my rsp 1066 together with rmb 100 amps and a REL Storm subwoofer. The main (front) speakers are Elipson Colonne Design. The sound of the front speakers in combination with the REL in stereo is not as good as it was when the REL was connected to the high output of my Luxman amp. I think the front speakers are not getting the full spectrum? What is the best speaker setup? Can I choose full spectrum to the front speakers together with full spectrum to the sub output and use the REL's turn over?

    Hi Fred,

Are you only connecting to the REL via the LFE now because you are using monoblocks?

If so, check the "Mode" selector on the back of your REL. If should be in either position 2 or 4 depending on if you need 0 or 180 degree phase for your speakers.

If I had to guess, you have the Mode selector on your REL in either position 1 or 3 and what is happening is that the bass is being sent to the REL via the LFE and then being filtered by the crossover on the REL (which is probably set somewhere between 25Hz and 35Hz).

A 2nd thought. If you have your mains configured as LARGE on the RSP-1068 and only have your REL connected via the LFE now, the RSP will send a full range signal to your mains, but NONE of that signal will be shared with the REL now that you dont have the high level connection anymore.

If you are only going to connect to your REL via the LFE, then you need to set all of your speakers to SMALL on the RSP-1068.

Claase Sigma SSP and Rel S3 connection issue

Anyone out there have experience connecting the Sigma SSP with Rel S3 subwoofer in 5.1 setup? I connect using both the Sigma SSP "sub out" RCA to Rel S3 .1 LFE input and also using the Rel high level speaker connection to the front left and right speaker connection at the Amp output. When...

I am wondering what is the best way to calibrate my audio system. I have used an spl meter and tested/adjusted speaker levels. I have heard that the AVIA DVD is the best HT calibration program.... true? I was also intrested in looking at a spectrum analyzer or HT analyzer to see what kind of...

        Blu-ray LFE output
        by JeremyG
Hello all, long time lurker first time poster. Great forum!
I have a question regarding Blu-ray HD codecs' LFE output level. I have a Sony BDP-S550 hooked up via analog outputs to a Marantz SR7001. The Marantz does not decode HD audio. Standard DTS and DD decoded through the Marantz bitstreamed...

ZX Spectrum: HiVi M6A + BG Neo3 PDRW

I had the M6A on-hand while working on the CC for the Swope HT. I thought to myself, "This intriguing-looking driver might be an interesting companion to the BG Neo3." That was a good idea I had.

I've been listening to these constantly for the last month or two, and am just so...

        RSP 1066 and REL storm
        by Fred Penders
I use the rsp 1066 together with 5 rmb 100 monoblocs and the REL Storm subwoofer. I can't get the REL playing good enough in 2 ch stereo. Even with gain at maximum (should not be done!) it has almost no volume. The settings in the OSD seem to be right. I used the same REL together with my old Luxman...
