    RSX-1055 possible to bi-amp?

I am planning on getting the RSX-1055 later this year, and until my HT is ready, was going to use it for 2-channels with B&W 601 S3.

I'd like to bi-amp the 601, and was wondering if I can use the internal amps 75w/channel to drive, say the woofers and one of my RB-850 fed from the pre-outs to drive the tweeters? Does the internal amp get by-passed when the pre-out is in use?

The 850 is 50w/channel, so I'm also wondering if I would get an imbalanced sound doing it this way?

No the internal amps don't get turned off in the way you're thinking. If there''s no load on them the amps won't draw current but they're technically still "on" so yes you can use the 1055's internal amps to bi amp with if you wish.
