1080 for front mains. u can probably just set that one amp to kick on for 2 channel music and the 1095 on top of that for non 2 channel. Generally a 2 channel amp is going to produce higher quality 2 channel than a 5 channel amp, too.

Indeed, RB-1080 for the fronts and the RMB-1095 for the rears.

I am currently running 7.1 with DoProIIx software and it's beautiful :T .

      Good luck.

Apperently you should use the 1080 for the Mains, and the 1095 for everything else, However it wouldn't hurt to experiment and see if you notice a difference.

I would try it both ways and see what you like better. I compared the 1080 to the 1095 in pure 2 channel. 1080 did some things better, but 1095 did some things better as well... notably, that in pure 2 channel, 1095 actually puts out about 280W per channel and therefore had more headroom and dynamics. They are actually VERY VERY close... the 1095 basically gives you 2.5 1080's for the price of 2.

            rotel 1080/1095 or 1575 to power B&W
            by wildmda
I have 803S fronts, HTM3s center, ASW855 sub and 685 backs. I am trying to decide what amp to buy. Would it be better to go with a 1080/1095 combo and biamp or by a 1575? The cost between the two scenerios is basically the same.

Thank you for your help and advise.

            rmb-1095 vs rb-1080...and processor?

I'm thinking of going separates next. I wish I could afford a separate 2 channel system but not now.

I have the Rotel rb-1080 2 channel amp running my front mains (klipsch rf-7) with a Yamaha AVR to complete a 5 channel surround system. I really like the two channel performance of my...

            RB-1080 2 channel amp update
            by Azeke
            Hello everyone.

After approximately 3 weeks of ownership, here are my quick preliminary thoughts of the RB-1080 upgrade:

            1) After 2 weeks of tweaking, my soundstage has increased in both stereo and HT, and I now appreciate 2 channel music much more, marked improvement in...

            RB1080 / RMB 1095 - Channel Outage
            by Adz
Okay, one thing I purposely failed to mention in my first posting in order to give Rotel the benefit of the doubt, was that when I got my RB1080 it was dead out of the box so obviously I was given a new one. The 1095 worked fine for about 3 months, then the left channel died. Last night, the left...

            Rb 1080 Channel Out Again
            by Mitchell
It appears that my 1080 left channel is out once again.
If this is the case after having had the upgrade made by Rotel I will be looking to replace the 1080 with another amp. I just cant be bothered with bringing the thing in and picking it up and knowing that even after a fix the damn thing...
