    HDMI switch for 1068 ?

    Hi,

I heard that Rotel will provide a HDMI switches for 1098 via the RS323 port. I wonder if 1068 has a similar option and when we should expect to see this switch

    thanks,

Good point... you'd thinks it's possible to work with any of their gear with a RS323 port...

      Oh Andrew...?

If you heard that from me in my other post, you probably would want to take that with a grain of salt. I just happened to mention that if an upgrade came out, it would most likely work external off the RS232 port. They're not even close to coming out with one yet (I don't believe they even have any liscense for it yet)..

But if they do, the 1066,1055,1065,1098,1068,1056, & 1067 all have pretty much the same 'display out' on their RS232 port and should be compatible.

I searched the Club for "HDMI" and only found this thread, and I was wondering if anyone would know more about any possible plans for an HDMI switch for the RSP-1098?

Andrew had mentioned something about a year and a half ago along the release of the 1056/1068 just prior to CES 2004.

It shouldn't be too difficult an implimentation and it makes a lot of sense to keep video signals out of an audio box, plus it's a way of extending the half life of the processors and receivers against the compitition. However, I don't think we will see it untill the compitition starts showing up with their hdmi switching upgrades. Rumer has it that Anthem will impliment switching very soon so we could be seeing something from Rtel by CES.

                RSP-1066 vs 1068 vs 1069

I'm considering moving from my RSX-1057 (which I love) to separates this year. I'm wondering if there is a big difference sonically between the RSP-1066, 1068, and 1069?

HDMI does not sell it for me, so I'm not too concerned if it does or does not have HDMI compatibility. I have Rotel...

                video signal degradation via 1068
                by mars
Re-arranged my system and am using my TV for video switching since 1068 has no HDMI... noticed the picture looked better so I switched back and forth a few times. The 1068 definately degrades component video HD-muted colors and more "grain".
I know the signal path is longer going via...

                DOLBY DIGITAL PROBLEMS and 1068
                by DHR
I have a question about the Dolby digital. I think the Dolby digital is set to on - on the satellite receiver. This causes the 1068 to switch to Dolby digital even though it is set for 5 channel stereo. I am confused with the Dolby digital. Once it switches to Dolby digital the sound quality is worse....

Why do I need to upgrade my RSP-1068?
                by raduray
Until just a month ago, I had a SD Sony 36” Wega CRT as the video component of my system. Feeding it, using component from the 1068, was an S-Video cable box and a S-Video/Component 480p Pioneer DVD/CD player/recorder. Sound from the Cable Box and the DVD/CD Player was via the digital coax and...
