I have a question about the Dolby digital. I think the Dolby digital is set to on - on the satellite receiver. This causes the 1068 to switch to Dolby digital even though it is set for 5 channel stereo. I am confused with the Dolby digital. Once it switches to Dolby digital the sound quality is worse. i would expect it to be better. Therefore do I keep the satellite settings to Dolby digital off? Or do I have it set up wrong for the sound to be worse. The sound is only coming out of two speakers when it goes to Dolby digital. I may be not describing this well.

A lot of channels with Dolby Digital on the satellite are only broadcasting DD 2.0 (stereo). In the default DD mode, that will make only 2 speakers work.
When in the Dolby Digital mode with only two speakers working, hit the PLIIc surround button. This should apply Pro Logic II decoding to the DD stereo signal, giving you a 5.1 output.

Changing inputs on the rotel and back fixes the problem, so the output...-
